１９８２年 春（たしか‥そのころ？） 無限の植物を産する深山‥‥(¨ )霧が、萌え出でた若芽を しっとりと濡らす雨の日の原始林の中で、はじめて 岩オモダカに遭遇しました。 その魅力は、私のカボンス頭の視覚や触覚を一瞬にして跳び越え、身体の芯‥精神（‥と、言わざろう得無い）に奥深く迫ってきました‥。 山野草を楽しむ父のおかげで 私は、名も知れない羊歯（シダ）を数多く見る機会がありました。鹿児島県、出水市。植物だけに限らず、稀な環境を造る土地柄に育った私は、言うまでも無く一風変わった田舎ものに違いありません。 山歩きなどの際に父から、「あれは○×○×と言う植物、これは■○■○と言う花〜。」と、その植物の素晴らしさこそ教えられましたが、興味の無い その当時の私にとって、ほとんどの解説は「馬の耳に念仏」でした。 シダ植物に対しても同様でした。シダと言う１種類の植物に見え、もちろん名前も特徴も分からず、目に飛び込んでくるシダの群落は、” 何か出てくるんじゃないか？”と言う薄気味悪さを 覚える藪に過ぎませんでした。 そんな ある日、それは思い出せないある日の環境。どんな切っ掛けで、シダ？シダ‥、シダ！になったのか‥('-') ＜あれから、十数年、イワオモダカに受けたインスピレーションは表せていない (;´д｀) ‥。＞ くコ:彡「何ゆえに英訳？」 イワオモダカ⇒学名 Pyrrosia tricuspis |
